Not So Average

Hey lovelies! We are dressing up some basics today and giving the typical t-shirt and jeans combo a little sass. I've been living in statement sweater and t-shirts lately. Sometimes comfort is compromised with style, but that doesn't have to be the case! I've been attracted to sweaters and t-shirts that have elements of interest, but are still totally comfortable! Loving this adorable number with a pop of bow detailing on the back.

Here are some of my picks for the not so average t-shirt/sweater for fall:

She's Charming That Way

Hey lovelies! Happy Sunday! I love Sundays, even though it means work the next morning. Sundays mean brunch, lattes and shopping and I don't know about you, but I thrive on Sunday markets and and coffee dates.

Also, can we take a minute to appreciate this top? It was one of my lucky finds at the Aritzia Warehouse sale and I scored big time! I was convinced by a girl-friend of its versatility and dang, she was absolutely right! It pairs amazingly with skirts, and high waisted pants/shorts. Here are a few other options for cropped tops that I'm loving: Babaton - Oak + Fort - Wilfred - Babaton - Babaton

Here are my outfit details:

Top: Aritzia - Wilfred (similar here)
Skirt: Joe Fresh (another reptile-print option here or similar here)

A Girly Halloween

Hello lovlies! Halloween is approaching and its the time for pumpkin carving! As we all put the final touches on our costumes, or find a costume, here is some cute Monday inspo to get you geared up for the spooky holiday! I though this was cute girly take on the traditional Jack-O-Lantern. I always love finding girly ways to glam up my decor.

Fresh flowers are always a must in my room/home! I love the liveliness that fresh flowers add to a setting and why not combine it with the fun holiday element of the season! What I did here was hallow out a pumpkin like you normally would before you carve and filled it with water for a flower arrangement. This makes an adorable centerpeice and is such a creative 'wow' piece for your home.

Have a fun and safe Halloween! Thanks for reading!

A Grey Romance

Hey lovelies! Happy Friday, here is a grey colour story to add some creative inspiration to your weekend. I always like to challenge myself to styling outfits around different structural elements, colour pallets and and textures. Funny enough, I have never been much of a wearer of greys. I think its always a good idea to expand your limits and try new things. I'm really loving how grey is the perfect transition between white and black, sunlight white, grey is less harsh when paired with black.

Here are some other grey pieces to keep the creative juices flowing!

Here are my outfit details:

Romper: No. 1016 Industry (local boutique - similar style here and here)

Tea Party - Ruffles, Gold and Sparkle

Hey there lovelies! Happy Tuesday! Lets take a moment to admire this adorable statement skirt for a second. I love statement pieces because they create complexity to simple basics, in the case of pairing a statement skirt or blazer with a black or white top. This is one of my secrets to pulling off a chic look. I build my wardrobe by buying the staples (as addressed on this post) and adding flare and interest through different statement pieces. I started playing with statement pieces through the form of unique fabrics. I opted for a neutral pallet, but pushed the limits to where I could go with different textures, from the my comfort zone was pushed further with colour, but still sticking to a neutral pallet when pairing with them.

Here are some of my current favourite statement pieces:

And for some eye-candy, here are some of my current favourite designer statement pieces:

Obviously, we have to take a visit to a pumpkin patch and obviously its the time of year to bundle up with warm cozy blankets and binge watch Gossip girl, am I right? A Sassy Pony, Girly Ruffles and Edgy Vibes

Hey lovelies! I thought I'd experiment with my outfit today and go out of my comfort zone. These classic military-inspire booties balance out the girliness of the ruffles on my dress. This is such a great way to transition into fall as booties are a fall necessity and I'm not ready to put away my summer dresses just yet! I lived in this black dress for summer, why not bring it over to fall by adding   layers and boots.

Dress: H&M (similar here and here) (also love this one)
Jacket: Old Navy (similar here and here)
Booties: Winners (similar here, here and I also love this splurge pair - or eye candy ;))
