Ruffles and Designer Picks for Spring and Summer

Ruffles

Hey Lovelies! I hope you're enjoying the wonderful blooms spring has to offer. This season I'm obsessed with ruffles!

I feel like ruffles this season is a contemporary twist on the elegant women. Where ruffles not only channel a lady-like sentiments, but the asymmetrical modification to ruffles conveys an edgy take on the modern women. The details amongst the asymmetrically of the hems rejects tradition.

The details speak for themselves because they are such statement pieces.

I'm also seeing a ton of Gucci details and accessories to complementing the spring wardrobe, although Gucci has been trending for the past few seasons. I even have my eye out for this bag, and this belt.

Nothing screams warm weather better than Chloé? I say thier boho vibes are the epitome of spring and summer. I'm currently coveting the mini Marcie and the Drew.

What are you super excited to wear for spring? I'd love to know!

Thanks for reading!

Chic Business Casual

Chic Business Casual

Transitioning from season to season can be a task in itself and difficult to dress for, with the differences in weather patterns. However, I love the transitioning period between spring and summer.

It's a great time of year to dress up, as you do not need to hide under bundles of war layers nor do you need to wear minimal clothing to bare the hot humid summer months.

This is a great time to play with patterns, textures and trends because its cold enough that you can get away with layering great pieces together and cold enough to wear strappy sandals and skirts.

I love timeless classy pieces because as I get older, I look towards dressing appropriately for a serious business world. As I demand respect and as I build a career, I'm empowered by my wardrobe and clothing choices. Through fashion and style I can dress to showcase my sophistication and intelligence. My playful colours illustrate my youthfulness, but my conservative garments exemplify that success is my objective.

As a 21 year old trying to construct a name for myself, the playful elegance of business casual illustrates to my peers that I thrive for improvement and that I strive for the best everyday.

Outfits 1 and 2 are very office appropriate, outfit 3 is a  classy spin on how to incorporating a corp top into a business causal outfit. Depending on the dress code, this may or mayn't be appropriate. However, it is a great piece for brunch with the girls!

How To Wear Fringe

How To Wear Fringe
Happy

Trends come and go, and basics are always here to stay; however, I believe that life is too short not to experiment and try out trends and have fun with textures!

Fringe has been a trendy staple and has really made its way into modern fashion. It is such a cute twist on the boho-chic vibes, but as a girl that loves to take street-chic a little more class here are a few ways I'd personally style fringe.

A cute fringe skirt in a neutral colour is a perfect way to incorporate texture and wear this fringe fad. pairing it with with other neutrals down plays the 'statement' and actually makes the piece very wearable for a number of occasions. My rule of thumb when in doubt is opt for black. Black is so versatile but a monochromatic look is also very chic (it's like you tried, but you actually didn't).

Fringe accessories have been a must this season! From Aquazzura to Rebecca Minkoff, fringe is seen as such a statement item. A subtle way to add fringe into a casual outfit is to dress it up with a pair of fringe heels. However, if you want to keep it casual, fringe booties are a great pairing.

If the trend is too daring a top with subtle fringe details is a go-to for the unsure ;). Add some fun shorts or a fun blazer to spice up the outfit.

How do you wear fringe? I'd love to know!

Feather Details

Feather Details

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Today we are playing with feather textures and discovering new ways to pair the sophisticated, girly trend.

Feather details are a nice way to not only spice up an outfit, it creates an element of interest. I love this trend because its a simple way to look very chic and put together. I love those element where I can wear basics, but have a piece that adds something unique and interesting makes my outfit less 'basic'.

Staring small, I would opt for a feather shirt. Skirts are such an easy way to elevate an outfit and I love them for this very reason. I can wear a basic top (sweater, t-shirt) and have my skirt be my statement. A feather skirt is the statement in this case. Feel daring? Well you could always go a step further and add a pop of colour by wearing a statement jacket.

Feather tops are great because it is a subtle way to add texture. They pair great with shorts or skinny jeans. A chic jacket or without.

What would you pair with these feather textures? Let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!

Surviving the January Blues

Sweater dresses

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

As the holiday season is coming to an end, it doesn't mean that jewel tones have to leave just yet! Winter is just getting started and there are fun ways to coordinate fun winter outfits that make the January blues not so blue :)!

This season I'm loving bright reds as they add a touch of colour and life to that dull winter weather.

Sweater dresses are a winter favourite, a comfortable and timeless piece that not only is trendy, but also very classy.

My favourite for they season is suede, especially a long tan suede coat. It goes with absolutely everything and looks so very chic. My go-to idea of beating these January blues is wearing all the great new pieces from my holiday shopping (most of the time I was literally buying things for myself). It fills me with joy wearing brand new things.

I feel that putting the effort to dress your best everyday, will confidence and make you happier.

Remember the fun times and the memories that you've shared in the last few weeks and the time spent with those you cared about. Not only do you have to fight the crowds at department stores, you no longer have to break your budget.

There may no longer be holiday festivities, but there are certainly many more fun winter activities left to do. Enjoy what this season has to offer! My favourite is skating and late night walks at the park (it feels like something out of a New York movie set).

Pairing Midi Skirts (for petites)

Untitled #11

Happy Saturday everyone and I hope all is well! Today, lets talk about midi skirts.

I have been loving the midi skirt trend since the beginning of this year. I think it is so feminine, classy and gives off some great retro vibes! However, sometimes they can be a little hard to pull off.

For me, as a petite girl, its hard to find a midi skirt that actually flatters my height. Sometimes these skirts can overwhelm my figure and actually make me look shorter, that is why it is important for me to find one that hits just right above the knee.

A crop top paired with a midi skirt adds an element of interest, that makes these skirts less conservative.

I think midi skirts are great because you can dress them up for a night out by adding a pair of strappy heels or dress them down for a casual everyday outfit by pairing them with flats.

For the fall, I would pair more flared midi skirts with a cropped jacket. For less flared skirts a long knee-length coat is great!
