How To Tackle The January Blues

Hey there lovelies! Now that Christmas and the holiday season are over it is time to get back to our everyday grind. The holiday season is so exciting because there is something to look forward to, but now that it is over the depths of winter has me feeling like spring is far from being around the corner.  Here is a post to help you recover from the long cold winter days. I thought I'd throw in some inspiration for the new year to get us get back on track.

I love treating myself. When I feel down or I feel like I need a mood booster, my go to solution is treating myself to a small token of appreciation for myself. We all have bad days and it is totally fine and acceptable to go through them. After all, life is about the ups and downs and learning how to get through hardships as well as treasuring valuable moments. On special occasions I love treating myself to some of my favourite things or a lipstick I have been eyeing. Being the girl boss that I am, I love taking initiative to make sure that I have a great day even on my bad days. I find that in everyday, there is always something you can be grateful and happy about even if it is as small sharing a meal with a loved one. Even if you have to buy yourself flowers, that is still one thing you can smile about.

Be thankful for what you have. I think this is something that everyone, even me could take more time to do. On occasion I like taking a set back to reflect on my life's journey. As cheesy as that sounds, it is so calming and brings such positivitity. I love taking long drives by myself to think about my life, my accomplishments, and what goals I want to achieve.

Keep Busy. One of the best lessons I have learned so far in my early twenties is being happy being alone. I went through a really tough break-up in my second year of university and had a year long period of self-rediscovery. In this time I learned what truly makes me happy and that is having a career in a field that I love, time to spend with loved ones, independence and achieving my goals. Channelling my energy into the thing I love maintains a positive mindset and also distracts me from the moody depths of winter.

Take advantage of the seasons' offerings. The best way to tackle January is to take advantage of the winter weather. Who said skating was an activity for solely for the holidays? Since it is still winter, you can still have cozy days in by a fire playing boardgames and even warm lattes with friends in a cafe on a rainy day.

How do you tackle the January blues?

Thanks for sticking with me and taking the time to read my content. Heres to another year! Thank you so much for your support.

Sincerely,

23 Things You Didn't Know About Me

Hey there lovelies! I recently celebrated my 23rd birthday and thought I'd share 23 facts you did not know about me, so we can get to know each other a little better.

1) I love Penguins. I have a giant penguin named Pippy and I live for penguin everything. I also love the Pittsburgh Penguins, which came before the penguin obsession. HA!

2) My favourite Disney movies growing up were The Lion King, Simba's Pride, and The Little Mermaid. Don't forget High School Musical; I knew all the words and had posters of Zac Efron all over my room.

4) My dream handbag is a vintage Chanel.
