Romance

I think romance is about the details. The the charming subtle details, and the feelings of admiration that go along with them. Romance is in the soft pinks and the delicate hues. The song of the soul and the love for life itself. Romance is the inner tender vulnerability of oneself.

February is the month to celebrate love, wether you have a significant other or not. I like taking this time to reflect on things I love or admire. I feel like there is too much emphasis on love between two people, but rather we should take this time to celebrate love for humanity and love for ourselves. If you have followed me for a long time, you'd know that I place much emphasis on independence and appreciating oneself (through reflection, gratitude and treating oneself). I feel that this takes away the commercialization of love and relationships and creates a deeper meaning we can all appreciate.

Here are My outfit details:

Dress: Club Monaco (also love this one and this one)
Coat: Club Monaco (similar here and here)
Tights: H&M
Bag: Chloe
Booties: Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Ring(s): H&M (similar here); Oak + Fort (also love this and this)

Do you like this kind of post? It is a little more artsy.

Lady in Red - What to Get the Girl Who Has Everything

Hey there lovelies! Christmas is approaching, meaning it is also the season to face the crowds to find that perfect gift for a loved one. As much as I love snuggling around a winter fire with my soft furry blankets and watching Christmas movies with my man, I for one love Christmas shopping. I love finding the perfect gift and knowing that they will absolutely love it.

Though, sometimes finding the perfect gift can be a true struggle. I've compiled a list of my top picks for your best gal pal of for the girl who has everything.

1) Jo Malone Candle - Jo Malone candles make the perfect luxury gift for that girl who has everything. They are a little pricier, so it is always a cute treat to burn one of these. The scents are to die for and makes a perfect hostess gift for the holidays too! I'm a sucker for packaging and Jo Malone never fails in this department. My favourite scents are Peony and Blush Suede and English Pear and Freesia

2) Chanel COCO Shine Lipstick - This is one for the beauty lover. If you do not particularly know what your receiver likes when it comes to lipstick, I think you can never go wrong with a neutral hydrating balm. I personally love the COCO Shine because it is like moisturizing lip balm combined with a wash of colour. It will give your gal pal a 'my lips, but better' kind of look.

3) PJ Set - As a girl who loves her soft textured fabrics and lounging at home, I think a cute PJ set makes the perfect gift. You can never have enough fun comfies to loge around at home in. Even I am guilty of wearing my christmas PJs all year long! La Vie En Rose has an amazing selection of lounge wear; they have everything to penguin slippers to fuzzy robes. Currently only $20CAD, I love this set and this set.

4) Gold/Rose Gold Office Supplies - This one is for the girl boss. For someone who spends a lot of time working out of her desk, I get inspired by the fun details that surround me. Cool trinkets are also a great conversation starter. Here are some of my favourites: Rose Gold Scissors (although you can opt for an $8CAD pair if you are lucky at Winner/Marshalls), Riffle Paper Co Notepads

5) Coffee Table Book - I think coffee table book is great way to personalize a gift. For the fashion lover, you can opt for designer books like Tom Ford, Chanel: Collections and Creations, Chloe: Attitudes, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci: The Making Of. You can direct your gift to the receiver's personality -- like architecture, home design, nature, etc. Coffee table books are a great designs piece and adds personality to a home.

6) Blanket Scarf - I think a thick blanket scarf is a good alternative for the classic glove/beanie/scarf combo. This is perfect for the college student or the girl on the go. Blanket scarfs are practical, versatile and can be a chic accessory to a winter outfit. I love ones for Aritzia; I love this one and this one.

7) Riffle Paper Co Stationary Set - I'm a sucker for cute stationary and Riffle Paper Co always has me covered. What I love about them is that they have prints for different iconic cities. This way you can totally customize it to suit your reviver, by picking a memorable city. I personally love new york and they have prints I could frame dedicated to the big apple (like this one and this). What I also love is that they have super cute memo pads to organize your busy schedule (like this one) and calendars/planners for the new year (like this and this).

8). Henri Bendel Makeup Bag(s) - This one is for the girly girl and/or the Gossip Girl fan. Nothing is more festive for holidays than a Bendal's Christmas. Henri Bendel is the epitome of Christmas in New York. Their classic brown and white stripes are perfect for the girly-girl who has everything. Makeup bags are so versatile; of course they could house makeup, but when I travel, I love having little bags to separate my belongings especially my fine jewellery and tech cables. I love this option as well as this one. This one would be great for traveling. These are definitely on my Christmas wish-list!

I hope you found these ideas inspiring for your Christmas shopping and I hope my ideas were helpful!

School Survival Guide: De-Stress

hhh
Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! As a third part of surviving school guide, I thought it would be a nice idea to talk about ways I like to de-stress during the busy semester.

So its almost the end of the semester and its that final rush before summer. The end is near, but it is all very stressful! I hear you, I've been there.

I always think that it is such a positive thing to time some time for yourself, especially this time of year. I'm a busy girl and I'm constantly on-the-go juggling a bunch of different tasks, but throughout the years I've also found that taking sometime for myself really helps me to maintain my happiness and sanity.

If you haven't read my post about staying organized, stop now and go read it! Staying organized enables me to make time to relax, make time for friends and enjoy my hobbies.

Here are some of my favourite ways to de-stress: (Calm girl, I got you covered ;) )

1) Making time with your friends: Make an effort to go for lunch or drinks with girlfriends or a close friend. Talk about boys and have a little time off from studying and school work. This might seem common sense, but during a busy school year, sometimes we really neglect those close to us. As I have gotten older, I've learned that the support system from those close to you is apart of the reason why you are the way you are. Amazing, hard working and great!

2) Make time for yourself before bed: This is something that makes me the most sane and what I live by! Dim the lights, light a candle, wear your most cozy pjs, hot tea and watch a few Vlogs before bed.

3) Netflix: I like to reward myself with an episode of my favourite show AFTER i finish all my homework for that day. (I'm loving Suits, Scandal and How to get Away with Murder atm, how about you?)

4) Schedule in sometime for hobbies: For me, my guilty please is shopping and browsing at stores. This keeps me inspired and grow my knowledge on new trends. Nothing makes me more happy than being inspired by little things in life.

5) Being Thankful: I'm very appreciative of all the little things life has to offer, and I take in one day at a time. Living in the moment really helps to de-stress.

6) Make Lists: If I have lots of things to do, I write a list of tasks. Writing it down tells your brian not to panic, you will get it done one at a time.

I'd love to hear your tips! Leave me a comment!

Like always, thanks for reading!

Host/Hostess Gifts for Holiday Dinner Parties

Host/Hostess Gifts

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Holiday season is just right around the corner, meaning good food and plenty of laughs with friends. It's also the time of year when we get invited to special gatherings, family dinners, and festive functions.

I feel that it is common courtesy to bring a gift to any dinner party you may be invited too, but finding the perfect gift can sometimes be confusing. I have complied a list of unique and functional gifts for inspiration that will hopefully be of help while finding something for your host/hostess.

Wine is always a great way to start, its wide selection will enable you to stay within a budget, while making it seem like a good gesture. If wine is not your thing, a great idea is champagne or if you want to be a little more fancy, play it up with some rose.

Flowers are also great! They always bring an element of happiness. I love hydrangeas, or seasonal flowers would work perfectly. Stay away from carnations or generic flowers though, they can seem tacky. Basil plants are also nice, and well appreciated.

Another great gift are candles, I love ones from Jo Malone and Bijou. Yankee candle is always a nice go-to.

Chocolates, who doesn't love them? Compartes is a chocolatier based in LA and has a great selection of flavours. Has anyone ever heard of Cactus flavoured chocolate? Well your host/hostess probably hasn't either; thus, it's a great and fun thing to try!

I hope you have gotten some inspiration!

Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
