Ruffles, Romance and Silver Hardware

Hey there darlings!

It may be May, but my thigh high boots are here to stay!

Although boots are a fall and winter staple, they are absolutely perfect carried on into the spring months. (I love them in general, so I will find any excuse to wear them!) They are the perfect transition and evening staple. As the weather gets warmer during the afternoons, it still tends to cool during the evenings and living on the Pacific Northern Coast, it does not get 'hot' until mid-June. This means I can wear my Spring items a full season.

A flowy spring dress is perfect paired with thigh high boots as it gives off a modern, glamorous girly-girl look. I also love carrying my look in to the evening and these boots are the perfect staple to transition my day-wear into night-wear.

Dreamy Blacks, Greys and Reds

Hey there darling,

I'm channeling my inner Blair Waldorf today. Focusing my style around conjuring the big apple, and keeping in mind the walks around central park, this classic number screams gossip girl. My Henri Bendel bag is the perfect accessory to top off this look.

I'm obsessed with the subtle details on this ruffle skirt. It is that additional small pop of detail that makes this simple outfit ever more chic and simple. I also am loving greys paired with red and black. It is such a perfect pairing, that I can not believe I hadn't though about it sooner.

Monochorme and Ruffles

Hey there lovelies! Happy May!

I'm still obsessed with my thigh high boots and I'm not sorry. I love pairing them with flowy ruffle dresses as the slim fit of the boots hug my calfs perfectly giving the outfit more dimension. The tight elongated look of the boots compliment the shapelessness of this dress. For chilly evenings, I love topping my look with a warm black coat to my look the peek-a-boo effect with the boots.

I love how this look is so simple, yet so chic and smart. The focus is strictly on the little details that make this look very glam, yet very effortless.

Here are my outfit details:

Dress: Zara (also love this number and this one)
Coat: H&M (also love this and this)
Booties: Marc Fisher (also love these)

Black and White - Bell Sleeves and Leather

Hey there darling,

We are working with a neutral pallet today, where the focus is on the details rather than on patterns and colours. Playing with textures and structural elements can really elevate a neutral outfit and change the way we pair neutrals together. As a lover of black, whites and greys, a basic outfit consisting of a basic black sweater, black denim and a pair of black booties can get real boring, real fast. The contrast between different fabrics is a great way to add dimension to create a polish and styled look.

The focal point here is on the bell sleeves and leather skirt, neutral in concept, but a glamorous and intersting duo. You do not need a powerful red dress to capture attention, a polished neural look and speak for itself.

With a focus on these key elements my shopping lists consists of skirts, blouses or coats that are neutral in colour, but stand out in its design.

Here are my outfit details:

Top: H&M (similar here and here) (also love this and this)
Skirt: H&M
Coat: H&M (similar here and here)
Tights: H&M
Booties: Forever 21
Rings: H&M and Oak + Fort (love this and this)

A Little Rustic - Greys, Neutrals and Simplicity

Hey there lovelies!

I am definitely a city girl at heart and I love all things urban, but sometimes it is nice to reflect on the little elements in nature. Now that the weather is nicer, the mosquitoes are not swarming yet, and the days are longer, evening stroll by a cute park is how I'm spending my evenings. I'm so grateful that my city offers both an escape to nature, but also modern coffee shops and retail stops.

Here are my outfit details:

Coat: Banana Republic (similar here)
Sweater: H&M (similar here)
Bottoms: Joe Fresh (similar here at H&M)
Booties: Marc Fisher (also love these)
Earrings: Local Boutique (similar here and here) (also obsessed with this Dior pair)
Ring(s): H&M (similar here); Oak + Fort (also love thisthis and this)
