Hey lovelies! How has your summer been? It’s been a while
since I’ve just sat down and write a blog post about my life aside from my
regular outfit posts. I have actually missed taking the time to just write
about fashion and or what’s been going on.
For starters I’m going to be entering my last year of
university this September and boy am I nervous! Though, people think I should
be excited, but I’m petrified for what I will be doing as soon as I am no
longer in school… That means no more free student banking or student health
benefits! (jokes)
The biggest worry especially for people my age is: what the
heck am I going to do after school? Isn’t that a question we are all concerned
with though?
I’ve realized recently that I have to do what makes me
happy.
This is said so often, but recently I’ve realized the
importance of perusing what I am passionate about.
So I’ve always wanted to peruse something creative and going
to University has always become the back-up plan for if my creative aspirations
ever failed. Entering my second year of university was when this blog first
launched around 3 years. At the time I had no idea what direction I wanted to
take it.
Fast-forward a year and a half later, I was in a place where
I needed a creative outlet. I was posting a ton of outfit posts on Instagram,
but lost inspiration. This is when I friend encouraged me to re-launched this
blog, which is actually it one of the best things I could have done.
What my friend told me has stuck with me forever. He said
that I can’t do it all, and that I needed to focus on one thing that I am
passionate about and turn it into something great. I’ve always been the girl
who tries to do everything well, but I realized that that is impossible. If I
tried to do everything well, I wouldn’t have one thing I do amazingly.
Pursing your passion also makes you much happier. I’ve been
juggling a bunch of things recently: work, school, volunteering, friends,
family, a relationship and this blog. The good thing was that I was working
hard, but balancing everything wasn’t easy and I wasn’t happy. This meant that
I had to reflect on what I needed to give up and focus on the things I
cherished. When you are not happy, you need to make the necessary changes to
I encourage you all to focus on the things you love and
cherish, even if it is not the conventional norm. Life is too short no to
pursue what makes you happy.
